George approached us to design books for his publishing company, People's Press. Recognizing the trend of bookstore closures in the community, he understood the importance of preserving local stories and firsthand accounts that help define our area's character. George brought us the manuscript and collection of photographs that he and Nikki Strait had been gathering during Nikki's process of clearing out an old barn on his property prior to selling his ranch in Woody Creek. His photo-logs or Pholgs became a staff favorite in our studio. We had to learn about his history and what amazing community program he was going to start next. George was one of those people who glued the community together. It was an honor to work with him and call him a friend.
